What's Happening With the Fishing? The winter winds are upon us! Water temperatures in the ocean are in the low 70's and vary from the high 50's to around 70 inside the inlet. Plenty of winter fish, bluefish, spanish mackerel, pompano can be found off the beach and inside the inlet. Trout, red fish and snook (closed season) can be found on the flats as the water warms toward the afternoon. One can walk the beach and cast to bait pods or cruise the beach by boat. Approach the pods with caution and cast along their edges. Remember to "match the hatch." Choose the size and color of your fly to match the bait. Good casting!
